The Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India sanctioned the INDIAsize project to develop standard body sizes for the Indian apparel sector, addressing disparities. The project gathered anthropometric data from over 26,000 individuals aged 15 and above, using 3D whole-body scanning technology. Completed in 2023, the project's size charts aim to assist apparel industry in producing well-fitted garments for Indian body types, creating balance in demand and supply. The study's insights have implications across other sectors facilitating the creation of ergonomically designed products for the Indian population.
